On behalf of Toronto Community Housing, Public Interest carried out research on the emerging needs of the Regent Park community, whose population is expected to rise significantly once the community redevelopment is complete.
Public Interest conducted demographic research and developed population projections for the redeveloped neighbourhood. We also carried out an extensive review of service providers in Regent Park, cataloguing their current services and client base and projecting probable future trends in client and community service needs. We carried out this research using written surveys and key informant interviews with service providers.
We assembled data from previous studies (most of them also conducted by Public Interest) to inform an overall report on trends in community service needs. Our research formed part of the basis for the community services plan in Regent Park.
